The boys had their end of term Group Suzuki violin concert today, and both of parents turned up to support them. I think it’s good for both of parents to be in the boys’ lives, and to have a smooth and amicable transition.

Based on very anecdotal / ad hoc ‘market research’ (N=2), it seems like divorces are generally much more acrimonious. Over the past few weeks, I’ve spoken to 2 divorced guys, both of whom have separated for a long time, but not yet formally divorced, mostly because their exes did a number on them – trying to cut them off from their children, and resulting in protracted court processes.

I suppose, in the grand scheme of things, our separation is relatively amicable to date, and I would argue (naturally) that I’m a model ex, compared to other ex benchmarks (with the caveat that N=2).
