I’m definitely not yet 100%. Woke up too late / was too groggy and slow in the morning to make it in time for the Hyrox class I signed up for, so I detoured for a coffee, then did my rehab exercises at the gym, and tried to add some other exercises. Even though I had a very bad feeling about it, I tried wall balls anyway, and felt super gassed, so gave up after 30. I decided do some ergs to get some low impact cardio work. Italian Stallion says he’s doing a lot of erg work now. While I can definitely work on ergs (I am bottom ~10% on ski, and bottom ~30% on rows), I never prioritise them because I have much bigger problems / lower hanging fruit to work on (hello wall balls!), and I also have scope for improvement in sled pull, farmer’s. And the biggest gain is of course in running. But since I was in the gym, and feeling decidedly low energy, I decided to row 2K.. and even that was surprisingly tiring. My legs felt quite tired out and sore. Clearly I can benefit from erg work…

The bottom brunch we went to was rather underwhelming – less brunch (some soggy tacos, not even real brunch), more bottomless (which was the less appealing part of the equation for me)… and there was no dancing. Next time we will go to the Brompton venue (it was sold out for Easter weekend), which my friend said had better food, and a lot more dancing. The Brixton venue was nice, but no dancing. At least we had an excuse to visit the very ‘cultural’ / ‘democratic’ Brixton. And it was nice to hang out with SY. We also agreed to learn sailing together. Yay. She asked me about my dating, and why I wasn’t having fun, and expanding my horizons. But I wonder if I should expand my horizons with people I’m not attracted to? It rather defeats the purpose of horizon expansion if it’s not fun, no?

I was starving by late afternoon, so we went for an early dinner at Singapulah.

Finally sorted out all the bits for my upcoming India trip – paid the remainder of my tour operator fee, applied for a visa. I hope it will be a good trip. The Middle East trip was somewhat challenging logistically, with my complicated flight path across several countries. But India feels more challenging, maybe because I’ve never been, and it’s like to be more administratively burdensome, and more chaotic than Bahrain and Doha. I’m slightly nervous, but also excited.
