I asked the boys if they wanted to do an Easter egg hunt. They said they were fine skipping it, which means less work for me. We agreed to go climbing instead.
O made French toast with F’s help. The boys didn’t want to listen to “Up” on repeat, so I introduced them to ABBA, but they were not impressed by that either.

The boys and I played hide and seek enroute to the tube this morning. They were spying and following me from a distance and trying to hide from me – it was really fun! I remember we used to play hide and seek all the time with AJ and the boys, just randomly. I lost my playful streak somewhere along the way. I guess I’ve always had lots on my mind the last few years. It was really nice to play and have some fun again, like my ‘usual’ self. The boys will keep me young, if I remember to be present and live in the moment with them, as worry-free as possible.
I did a little bit of bouldering, but mostly supervised the boys. I did a 4 and a 5 in the Pump Room (the 5 I didn’t manage to complete in one go), tried but failed a V1-V2 at the blocks (Upper Traverse), and we played a game at the Slab. The boys also did some bouldering outdoors, but my arms were gone by then, so I just sat and watched. I also rowed 3K to get some training in.

Did some more decluttering. O brought up a box of papers from his room, which I went through, and shredded a bunch of old bank statements and confidential work papers. Went through most of the bathroom stuff, and threw out the boys’ baby bath, and Stokke Tripp Trapp highchair part. Decluttering is a muscle I need to keep exercising. I hope that all the decluttering is finally beginning to have impact on the flat, although there is more to do.

We finished the rest of “Cobra Kai” Season 1 in the evening, and I tried to explain to the boys how misunderstandings often cause friction and difficulties between people, and we should always talk to one another so we don’t get into misunderstandings. If we are angry at one another, we should always speak to each other to understand our respective points of view. It’s good that “Cobra Kai” shares additional background on Johnny Lawrence, and portrays him in a more sympathetic light, whereas in the ‘OG’ Karate Kid, it was very one dimensional and black and white – one side was all good, and the other side was all bad. Whereas real life is often not like that – there are often nuances and shades of grey.
