I’m barely back a few days, and already I feel stressed and exhausted from the rapidly escalating renovation bill, and fighting with my neighbour. The building contractor has apparently found more structural issues with the building, on my neighbor’s top half of the building, which will add £4.5K to the bill, and he suggests also repairing and repainting my windows which will add £1.5K to the bill, which is a substantial increase to an already high renovation bill. My neighbour naturally wants to me contribute 50% to the costs for his half of the building, and want me to absorb 100% of my costs because apparently his works are structural, and mine is purely decorative. And his wife is writing me war and peace texts setting out their rationale and justifications. It’s exhausting just trying to avoid being screwed and backstabbed – colleagues, neighbour…

There are times when I really hate my life.

In the meanwhile, I’ve done another round of discarding. I’m trying to focus on what I can control.
