The boys and I are having a quiet bank holiday weekend. I had just booked our summer holiday travel arrangements – a Norwegian fjords cruise, which O was interested in, and our flight tickets back to Malaysia – so I’m feeling a bit broke, so I’m aiming for a local, low cost, low key weekend.

I was researching family fun things to do, and was amused by the name ‘Horniman Museum and Gardens’, so I dragged the boys there, despite their complaints that it was too far, too boring etc. The boys weren’t very interested in the exhibits / displays, and mostly just ran around, although F touched some of the animal exhibits, and the boys played a bit with the music instruments. We then went to the gardens, and played “Un, deux, trois soleil” for a bit. But I couldn’t play it well because my right foot was hurting. I injured it suddenly / randomly yesterday during my run.

I suggested visiting London Museum Docklands on the way back, but O really didn’t want to do it, and volunteered to do extra violin practice if we went home directly. So we did.

I did a little bit of decluttering today – some clothes, random items which definitely didn’t spark joy, and the wooden mallet which the boys often use to threaten each other.
