A quick early morning swim practice in the SkyDome Pool, breakfast, then we dashed off the ship to gather at our meeting point for our Nordic Walking to Huaren Viewpoint on shore experience.

We were a small group of 11 for the walk, a lot fewer than most other activities from what I could tell. It was meant to be a 4K hike up to the viewpoint, and another 4K back, estimated to take 3 hours, but we ended up being quite quick, so our guide brought us to Olden and gave a quick tour around the little town.

I dropped the boys off at Kids’ Club, and then went for a run in Olden. I had wanted to cross into Loen, the neighbouring town, but the road went into a tunnel, so I turned back. It was dangerous enough running alongside the thin strip on the side of the winding road.

In the evening, I brought the kids to watch a show “BooMin”, a band who belted a medley of songs from “Part of Your World (Little Mermaid)” to “I’m gonna be (500 miles)” to “Fix You” to “Living on a Prayer”, and even an Italian aria I didn’t recognise. It was a valiant effort to entertain everyone from children to Baby Boomers – a tall order in itself – but not as good as “Festival” the night before. The music was really loud, but O still managed to fall asleep as he found it “so boring”. He such a pre-teen sometimes.

We get to watch the fjords from our cabin window, although I try to sleep early, and I tend to dash off to the pool as soon as I wake up, to get my swimming drills in. View from our cabin window…
