10 years ago today, AJ and I got married in the Graceland Wedding Chapel, where Jon Bon Jovi got married. Despite the divorce process, and recent acrimony, we have still been married for 10 years, and together for almost 15. It is a milestone.

We had lunch with the kids at Pidgin, a one-star neighbourhood restaurant in Hackney, which we’ve been to a few years before. The food was nice – the restaurant is very low key and casual, with a weekly rotating menu – but the kids were a little bit trying after a while.

Then we had a leisurely walk from Hackney to town, where I did my weekly grocery shop in Chinatown, before coming home.

Apparently, the 10 year anniversary is the ‘Tin’ anniversary, so I got AJ a glass with a pewter base, with Celtic knot motif. AJ bought me some flowers, as a last minute ‘stop gap’ measure, because his real anniversary gift hasn’t arrived.

It was a nice, low-key way to celebrate this milestone. I think it is good and important to mark the milestone, even though it is bittersweet.
