We went climbing again today. I signed the boys and I up to a “Family Taster” course today. I’ve already …
2022 has been a strange year. A year of highs and lows, transition and stagnation, introspection / soul-searching, an emotional roller coaster of a year.
Very belated 2013 review. Drafted sometime during the course of 2014, but only published in 2015 (but backdated to 2014, haha). With the Boy’s help / suggestions on high and low lights.
So I think 2011 has shaped up to be a pretty slow year in terms of achievements
It’s been a long summer…
i’ve been getting so obsessive about training that i’ve created an excel to track the my various exercise activities on a daily, weekly, rolling 4-week basis
I love bank holiday weekends when I’m not going anywhere, and just chilling in London. I slept for 12 hours on saturday, only waking up at noon on Sunday. I never have that luxury on a normal 2-day weekend because I’m always trying to cram all of my life into a mere 48-hours, always “running from one falling star to another”, in the words of the immortal Jack Kerouac.
I was struggling to come up with “achievements” of the year, so the Boy actually helped me with coming up with a lot of the below. He thinks I’m too harsh on myself (and him) and am inclined to diminish my achievements as well as his. Perhaps so.
I was looking for blow-out, exciting things that I’ve done which stand out to my mind (almost nothing does to me), but I guess in my own little, almost unconscious way, I’ve done a lot of pretty interesting stuff, which might have been exciting when I was younger, but now seems less impressive to me… which is probably me being overly blasé.
The Boy had planned and organised a richly packed and highly detailed weekend for 24-25 January to French and Spanish Basque country.
