So, 2014 is clearly a less exciting year than 2013, which is tough year to beat – getting married, giving birth, living in NYC etc.
But with the Boy’s help – because he really does think of putting everything down, whereas to me, my highlights were only ‘added new countries’ and ‘started a new job’ – I have a halfway decent list of “highlights”, albeit some pretty lame ones.
I haven’t written here in a while, mostly because I’ve become increasingly exercise-obsessed – it’s crazy how addictive fun exercise can be! Cardio, unfortunately, is NOT fun… which is why I was breathless and really struggling when I had to run through the airport twice in two days to catch my flights on Monday and Tuesday. Baaaaddd. Must. Do. More. Cardio. Actually, the problem to solve is actually: Must find Cardio which is FUN.
i’ve been there for just about a month now. i’m still being relatively cautious, still having my feelers out and trying to get a sense of the political landscape and winds. the people, on the face it, seem nice and and pretty funny so far.
I’m glad I’ve invested in my accessories.
I finally officially tendered my resignation to HR on 6 October (Wednesday). I unofficially told the senior and junior I’ve worked most with on Monday 4 October, then told my line manager and team head on Tuesday 5 October. Had my leaving drinks on Thursday 7 October.
After a long quiet winter of inertia and desperate anxiety, it seems like little green shoots of fun and activities are sprouting, and the invisible weight on my shoulders has been lightened with the longer days and warmer weather.
